Criteria

| Publisher | A named, contactable publisher with an official download page |
| Installer | No bundled unrelated software or opt-out toolbars by default |
| Necessity | A capability Windows does not already provide adequately |
| Transparency | Clear statement of free versus paid limitations |
| Maintenance | Evidence the tool still works on current Windows releases |
| Safety | No driver-level tricks or registry surgery without explanation |
What a mention means
Inclusion means the tool met our criteria for the specific job described on that page. It is not an endorsement of a vendor's marketing claims, and it is not a performance guarantee.
No fabricated measurements
Where we have not measured something ourselves, we do not present numbers. Claims such as percentage speed gains are attributed to the vendor or left out entirely.
